Project Overview: MES

1. Project Information

  • Project Name: Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Prepared By: Hybri Tech
  • Date: 13-01-2025
  • Version: 1.0.0

3.1 Project Overview

An ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is a type of software used by organizations to manage and integrate the important parts of their businesses.

The MES project is designed to streamline manufacturing and business operations through a centralized web-based platform. By integrating various modules like HR, Sales, Production, and Inventory, the system provides a single source of truth for all operational data, allowing for better decision-making and improved efficiency.

Target Audience: Manufacturing companies, factories, and industrial organizations looking to digitize their production and management workflows.

3.2 Objectives of the Project

The primary goals of this project are:

  • Reduced Manual Effort: Automating repetitive tasks and data entry to minimize human error.
  • Centralized Data: Ensuring all departments work with the same, up-to-date data.
  • Real-time Reporting: Providing instant access to production and sales analytics.
  • User-friendly Interface: A modern web system accessible from anywhere with role-based security.

3.3 Scope of the Project

Included:

  • HR Module: Employee records, attendance tracking, and payroll.
  • Inventory Module: Real-time stock management and warehouse tracking.
  • Sales & Marketing: Order management, pricing plans, and customer tracking.
  • Production Management: Work order processing and production line monitoring.
  • QA & QC: Quality control protocols and inspection logs.
  • User & Role Management: Secure access control for different organizational levels.

Excluded:

  • Native Mobile Application (Planned for future releases).
  • Hardware-level PLC integration (Custom requirement basis).

4. Problem Statement

Many manufacturing units currently face the following challenges:

  • Manual Record Keeping: Heavy reliance on paper or Excel sheets, leading to data loss.
  • Data Inconsistency: Different departments having conflicting information.
  • Time-Consuming Reporting: Generating monthly reports takes days of manual compilation.
  • Lack of Real-time Visibility: Managers cannot see current stock or production status instantly.

5. Proposed Solution

MES solves these problems by providing:

  • Web-based Centralized System: Accessible via browser, ensuring data is always synced.
  • Role-based Access: Only authorized personnel can access sensitive financial or HR data.
  • Automated Reports: Instant generation of PDF/Excel reports and visual dashboards.
  • Secure Authentication: High-level security including JWT encryption and CSRF protection.

6. System Architecture

6.1 Overall Architecture Diagram

The system follows a modern Client-Server Architecture:

  1. Frontend: A responsive web application built for speed and ease of use.
  2. Backend: A robust RESTful API that handles business logic and data security.
  3. Database: A relational database for structured and reliable data storage.

6.2 Technology Stack
